Guess what I can't get enough of?
Well I wanted to see if the strawberry could make such an impression on the batter as it did on the frosting. Well I hate to say that it did not. Maybe it was the yellow cake mix? Maybe it would be better in white? or if I made the cake from scratch? Well have to try that next time. Since I didn't feel that batter was very strawberry I went ahead and made the strawberry frosting again. Which was just as good as last time. To make it a little different I put 1/2 a container of non dairy whipped cream in with it. That made it less sweet, but they have to stay in the fridge now. I wasn't happy that they don't hold the nice swirl of the piping bag with that mixes in, but it is just this once, huh?

Maple cupcakes w/ cinnamon frosting
What a hit these little puppies where. I didn't even have enough frosting in the end, since every family member I have insisted on "trying" the frosting as I was decorating. Well the maple cupcake flavor wasn't strong enough and I wish I would have bought the extract like I wanted to, but I just had to make sure that using maple syrup wouldn't do the trick. It was still good don't get me wrong. The kids inhaled them faster than I have ever seen. Now for the frosting I just added cinnamon sugar mix & what was super neat about that was the regular sugar made them sparkly. So cupcake #2 was a success, again used a cake mix but want to try a couple more things before moving to cake from scratch. Did get a small cake decorating kit that had a bag and few tips, note the new look of the frosting. Well see you soon. Keep making, baking & creating!

My First Post
Well my newest passion is cupcakes. This all started with Pioneer Woman and her admiration of Bakerella. Now I am making, baking & creating! See my first cupcake at the right. OK it was Christmas and I didn't have too much time to spend on one item so the cake is a Red Velvet pre-packaged mix. The frosting is Bakerella's recipe and is delicious. I am so proud of how they turned out. I didn't even have any fancy piping bag it was strictly a sandwich bag with a corner cut off. So I was inspired to create my own blog and put my cupcake on it. Not sure where this will go, if anywhere. Certainly could be fun though.
